I made the almost 3 hour pilgrimage from East Tennessee to the Scottish Tartans Museum today and it was wonderful. I got to drop off my Locharron Dress MacDonald tartan to Mr. Matt Newsome to be made into a 4 yard box pleated kilt and half belted plaid, and of course explored the museum and gift shop. Ronen and Matt pointed out a GREAT deal on some fabric at the gift shop: 8 yards of the 16oz STROME (Locharron) in MacDonald of Glengarry Ancient tartan for only $240!!! WHAT A DEAL! I also picked up some VERY nice kilt hose and a stuffed Heilan Coo (with ancient MacDonald scarf and hat to boot) for my 5 year old daughter.

I am grateful that these men care about what they do, and care about us (the community of Scottish culture appreciators), and are taking care of this wonderful place. If you ever need any tartan material, accessories, etc, PLEASE consider the gift shop at the Scottish Tartans Museum!
