Thats right, June 16 2011 I was in the Callander Woolen Mills and bought my first kilt. It was called a weekender kilt, cost 50 pounds British (receipt was still in my wallet and readable after a year), Mackenzie tartan (as many of the off the rack kilts were) and I did the big tourist faux paux. Yes I was in the dressing room and put it on with the pleats in front and walked out for Jennifer to see. She was the only one who saw it, she also didnt know better, and said I needed the kilt. Well one year later I have about 11 kilts including my pride and joy tank made by Bonnie Heather Green. I still wear my Hecktor Russel I bought in Callander often and it always brings up wonderful memories of our self guided bike tour of the Highlands. I tell everyone who asks me about my kilt wearing that "I bought my first kilt in Scotland and have been going uphill ever since." Thanks to all here for the comradery shared here, the advice, the critiques and the friendship shared by all... One year and the quest continues.......

Regardless of whether you buy a kilt or not, everyone should find a way to get to Scotland for a holiday, I plan to get back one day....
