Kilted to Kick Cancer
Following several members' attempts to publicise and solicit funds for the charity Kilted To Kick Cancer and the subsequent work this has caused in repeatedly having to refuse such threads, it has been decided that this sticky should be created to make clear the reason why.
Rule #10 clearly states:
– The use of this forum for the seeking or solicitation of funds or donations or seeking professional legal, medical or spiritual advice is inappropriate. This includes any request or solicitation for sponsorship or support where funds would be requested.
Therefore NO attempt to raise funds for this charity is permissible in these Forums, the fact that there is a kilt connection is insufficient reason to allow an exemption.
We appreciate that this can be a disappointment and we do not seek to prevent members supporting this cause elsewhere but in future any more attempts to raise money here will be not only judged to be a contravention of Rule #10 but will invite potential disciplinary proceedings and an infraction.
