Kilted at a wedding
Happened yesterday that I attended the wedding of a young girl who was as a child one of my girlfriend's first daycare kids. Time flies and all the young kids are now young ladies. Well Jennifer asked if I would attend and I responded with the proper "Ask the bride if the kilt is ok.' The kilt was fine, I had worn it at her mothers wedding almost a year ago to the day. So I coordinated my outfit not to clash with Jennifer's lovely burgundy dress she work. For me it was my tank created by Bonnie Heather Greene using the Marton Mills 16oz German Heritage created by Rocky. The kilt is always a treat to wear, though I save it for special occasions. Along with this were charcoal gray kilt hose, my stag horn sgian dubh, my hand made garter ties in the same colors as the kilt, cordovan wing tips shined up nice, a light gray shirt I found the previous night, charcoal gray waistcoat, brown belt and brown leather sporran. This was a relaxed day wedding so I stayed away from the fancier black dress sporran. Well Jennifer and I were quite a nice looking couple.
I had noticed as we walked in a young man in a rather dapper white with red check jacket and red bow tie. Thought he looked pretty cool in it. I was complimented by the gentleman greeting us as we entered "Very nice kilt sir". We had a good eve and sipped lots of Tullamore Dew and other niceties. Jennifer's daughter came back laughing and told a rather funny story. Seems she went over to compliment Mr checked jacket and bow tie. He was nice and accepted the compliment and related that he felt pretty unique in the crowd until this guy comes in wearing a kilt and looking fantastic. Seems his ego dropped a few points. He said he just couldnt compete with such a fine outfit, but then we all know that dont we. I got a chuckle out of it as Marcie, the daughter, said she bragged about knowing the guy in the kilt and he wears them all the time. A good laugh and good time was had by all and the bride said she was quite glad I wore the kilt. Photos were taken this morning so they are just of me but it is the outfit I wore.

Ive always said " It is the woman that makes the dress look good, but in my case it is the kilt that makes me look good."
"Greater understanding properly leads to an increasing sense of responsibility, and not to arrogance."
