Well, I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm new to the forum and to kilting in general by the section of the forum , but anyway....

My name is Aaron and I live in the Philadelphia suburbs. I actually came across this board by accident while trying to research my roots, (Welsh, Irish, and English- being such I tend to have a lot of inner conflict, as well as a genetic predisposition to Guinness and fiddle music). Both my paternal and maternal grandmothers were Murphys, hence the name.

I've just sent off my order to Bear for my first kilt, and Bear if you read this I've lit a thimble shaped candle to bless your pleats and keep your fingers puncture free.

I can't beleive I've spent the first 31 years of my life trying to fit into the groove and play nice with the rest of the herd. I mean, I'm going to be dead one day! I'll be darned if I'm spending the rest of my days wearing pants (or particularly sober). And anyway, if all anyone can say at my funeral is that I wore a kilt, then I probably haven't lived a life worth mentioning at all. Graham's signature says it all,"Be happy living, for you're a long time dead."

PS- Sorry for the length of this post. I have a tendency to run off at the keyboard.
