So what's the deal with day plaids.

I wear a day/blanket plaid, as do several other Macphersons within the Clan Macpherson Association. However, I typically only wear the plaid thrown over my left shoulder at events such as a Highland games, or my clan's gathering and rally. That's about it. And only with Highland day attire. The late Euan Macpherson of Glentruim, Clan Macpherson Chieftain, almost always wore the day/blanket plaid at the annual Clan Macpherson Gathering and Rally in Badenoch. Sandra Macpherson of Glentruim, Euan's lovely wife, would assist Euan in putting the rather lengthy plaid on. When not in use, the plaid was simply thrown over a chair in the drawing room at Glentruim House near Laggan in Inverness-shire.
