Greetings
Greetings. New member.
I am hoping to get my first kilt soon, still unsure of which brand. Was really glad to have found this place. Lots of good information.
My name is Shandy Douglass. Growing up with a name like Shandy is a lot like being named Sue. No, it's not a girl's name. I am named after a beer. I have some Scottish roots way way back in my family, but I am a Hispanic / Native American. With a very funny name.
Wearing a kilt seems like the right thing to do. Growing up with the name I have, getting called a sissy or a fag or what ever uncreative insult the small brained ignorant masses could throw at me, I learned how to kick *** and take names. I am comfortable in my manhood, so much so that I have decided to free my self from Trouser Tyranny. If somebody named Shandy Douglass can't pull off wearing a kilt, I don't know who can.
I can't explain it... But I have always wanted to wear a kilt since a very early age. It calls to me. Something just seemed 'right" about wearing said artical of clothing. But then growing up happened, and life has not presented the chance to burn my trousers till recently. Wearing pants has never seemed natural to me. Goes against nature. Some day, I would like to get a traditional kilt, hopefully in South Carolina tartan. Till then, I am looking at an Amerikilt or a Utilikilt. Or like garmet.
