Here's one of the promised dumb questions: What is meant by "reproduction" as it relates to tartans? If seen it listed on sites before when looking up plaids but never thought to find out what they mean by it...

"Reproduction" is D.C. Dalgiesh's name for an alternate color palette (similar to weathered). According to the D.C. Dalgliesh web site:

The colourings of these Tartans offer a soft muted effect reminiscent of the days when vegetable sources such as lichen, moss and alder bark provided the dyer with his raw materials.
