Greetings all and Happy Holidays. Yesterday I was fortunate to come home and find the box carrying the Quaich on my front porch. Yes that is a Texas flag lawn chair, I do have to keep my roots regardless of the craziness going on in Texas politics.
In central Missouri after a trip from Arizona
I have to say I feel quite fortunate to be able to participate in hosting the Quaich. I had read of the travels the Quaich has made and wondered how to become part of this adventure. Well the opportunity arrived and I am now just one of the stops in the Quaich's historic travels. To me it is an honour to be part of this quest and to be able to share it with Jennifer and friends. Once the box was inside I had to inspect to make sure all was well and yes all was well.
I have a couple of events planned where I will share the Quaich, and some scotch in itIt starts tonight with a casual gathering of friends for a mid holiday open house. This is a chance for some friends to gather, without kids or extended family, and just relax with some good food and drink. I will have the Quaich displayed with a description about what it is and a bottle of scotch near by. I plan to invite everyone to partake in their own way and then sign the log book. Next Ill take it with me New Years Eve to my favorite brewpub. They have a reasonable selection of Scotch, rye whiskey and small batch whiskey so again I will share with friends. Ill also have folks sign the log book again. Should be fun, Ill be kilted and alot of good drink will be shared by all.. Photos will follow as they happen as this is a to be continued thread.
One last thing, would the next person to get the Quaich please pm me with your address and how soon you need it sent to you. I would like to send it on it's way asap after New Years day.
