Another point to keep in mind, is that you have several months to figure out what exactly you are planning to wear. Can we assume that you already own your kilt? If so, you can also (if you wish) post a variety of options and get additional input on specific outfits--bear in mind, your primary person to please is the one that will be standing there with you in August ;-)
If you do not already own your kilt, is it your intent to purchase a kilt or rent?
Further to the advise here, are you intending on wearing a kilt "post" wedding? If not then renting would be a good option. If you are planning on joining the kilted community, then purchasing the kilt and renting other accessories is an option. A wedding is one of those occasions in one's life where you want to "do it right" (after all you will have the pictures for many years sitting on everyone's shelf or hanging on the wall as evidence). If you plan to buy, don't wait too long.
