Greetings fellow kilties. I've been wearing the kilt on and off (enough said about that) for a few decades. Hunting MacGregor is my current full dress attire. I'm from a wee village near Dunkeld and have lived in California for nigh on 30 years. Much as I love California, my Scottishness has stubbornly resisted re-education. I'm a big Burns fan, and around January 25th each year I am called on for the Immortal Memory and a haggis thrashing performance that is more ham than sheep.
Right now I'm in the market for a pipers' dirk. Addressing the haggis with a sgian dubh doesn't have the same theatrical effect. Pooley Sword make the best one, I think, but they are presently retooling for a new generation (Mark IV?) for issue later this year. Does anyone here have a Pooley dirk? If so, perhaps you could share your thoughts about workmanship, value and cost.
Many thanks.
