    mixing tweeds of similar colors?

    Now that I have a brown tweed jacket I would like to pair it with my brown tweed kilt. They both have rust & blue stripes, but they arent the same. I know that its a fashion faux pas to mix tartans, but what is the feeling regarding tweeds?
