Hello everyone. I've always been interested in kilts and have looked at them online and dreamed of owning and wearing one. I have Scottish and Welsh ancestors (still doing genealogy on them).

I just ordered an Olive Kilt from AmeriKilt ( http://www.amerikilt.com/shop/amerikilts/olive/ ) along with a belt. I ordered two different hoses (black and lovat blue) and some red flashes.

I'm extremely hot natured and have always envied that women get to wear skirts with all that free air flow. I'm finally claiming my Scottish ancestry and going to wear a kilt. My plan is to work up to wearing one full time in place of pants. Even to work, which might be a small fight to achieve but I believe I can achieve it. I work for the State as a social worker. Our office does have a dress code policy and it is gender specific. It does allow skirts for women so I think I can argue that it is sex/gender discrimination and they will back off. We'll see how it goes. I'll start off with wearing on a casual Friday. I've already been talking it up at work to get reactions. Co-workers seem fine with it.
