Maori Equivalent
About a year ago a photo appeared in The Press, Christchurch, New Zealand of two people painting a church building on Banks Peninsula, east of the city. The young man is wearing a pair of shorts and a Maori kilt, called a piupiu. The shorts are courtesy of European culture.
