Trew story

Yes its trew (insert standup show drumroll), I'm finally getting a pair of bespoke high-waisted tartan trews in Lochcarrons 16 oz Sinclair Hunting Modern tartan.
I ordered them from Scotweb about a month ago and today I got the message that they were on their way from Edinburgh. I've just caught the diagnosis know as "the jones" which I guess many of you are already familiar with and thought "whoa! thats great news because I can't hardly wait for them to arrive"

The trews will be worn together with a dinner jacket and waistcoat for formal/evening wear and my regular length tweed blazer and waistcoat for less formal/ daytime wear. I've also planned to wear them with my Norwegian handknitted jumpers in various patterns and colors for that more casual, but still respectfull Scottish/Norwegian hybrid look. When it comes to footwear I've understood and seen that the regular brouges and dr martens boots is de rigeur for most formal and casual wear.

I already have a flat cap and a trillby, but are bonnets with clan badges worn with trews or is it just not done?

Norse/Norn: "Með lögum skal land byggja en með ólögum eyða".
Norwegian: "Med lov skal land bygges og med ulov ødelegges".
British: "with law shall land be built and with bad laws be destroyed".
