Starkholmes Gala with Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

No, not a Scottish or kilt related event although I was wearing a kilt, the only one, not surprisingly for the middle of England. Although just a minor village event, every year someone manages to pull some strings with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Last year we got a Dakota fly past, this year it was a Hurricane. It was supposed to be a Spitfire (my all time favourite aircraft - the shape is just beautiful), but apparently they did overtime on the 6th June this year as I suspect they did in 1944, so all had exceeded their flying hours.

As I was the one taking the pictures, if there is one of me in my kilt there, it is not mine and being somewhat distracted trying to keep an eye on my grandson, (seen here on the slide) Click image for larger version.

ID:	19530I never thought to ask anyone. We also had a regular troupe of Belly Dancers which one of my daughters dances with, but not at the gala; seen here with and without audience participation.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
