It probably is real leather but I wouldn't bet the the quality of the leather. That style is referred to as a hunting sporran and I've seen it on several sites. It probably wouldn't be terribly hard to make. The from and back are identical in shape and a strap and snap holds it closed. There is a gusset between the front and back for depth. You could easily change the closure to a front button and loop if you chose.
