Personally, I think that's a winner! Nice job, Glen!

Regarding the tweed, two things.
1.) My thought was to have one mill weave the tartan, another weave the tweed. I've heard back once from Knockando late last week, but it's been several days since I've heard from them. We were going to talk on the phone, actually I asked if they can do skype, but barring that, phone. I've had no response since then, and that was about 3 days ago. The other mill is Dalgliesh. I PM'd Nick Fiddes a couple of days ago here on X Marks and haven't heard back from him. If I don't hear back from Nick via X Marks on Monday, I'll try to reach him via Scotweb. I'll If that elicits no response, then I'll inquire with another Mill, or maybe Knockando will get back to me.
2.) Tartan first, tweed second. To the outside world, "tartan" screams SCOTLAND. Tweed doesn't, at least not so much. Which one is a more dynamic advertisement for the Cats? Tartan. So tartan first, and tweed if the tartan comes to pass without too much effort and grief, and the mills are interested. Note that just like tartan, a mill will need a minimum order of X number of yards...probably twenty.... to weave a custom tweed.
The tweed might happen. Maybe. We'll see.

UPDATE...literally while I was writing the above post. Knockando is not interested. They say that the mill is completely committed to producing their own stock and a very few bespoke fabrics. Also, they would insist on designing the tartan and being the distributor, and would have to be the direct contact to Wildcat Haven. I infer that that means they want to be the ONLY contact with Wildcat Haven, but I'm just "inferring" that and could be wrong. Anyway, no go with Knockando. (Ha! that rhymes!). I asked them about the tweed instead of the tartan. We'll see. d on't holdyour breath.
