ma made stovies ..it is made with end of a roast beef and au jus

mince (dice) the beef knuckle ..reheat in pot don't (dinna) boil (bile-it)

boiled (bylt) potatoes (ta-ies) left over ..some newly boiled ta-ies quartered ..

sautee some onions diced till yellow (yalla) add in your old taies (auld) to the new bylt taies ..and stir in your reheated beef n jus ..and heat slightly add salt n pepper (salt and pepper) to taste ..



It might be served with skirlie or meallie puddns ..a form of stuffing ..very delicious ..



it might all be drank with a dark beer ..

guiness 3-4 oz in 12 oz Budweiser or ballantines ..make s the best home brew ..on a hot day ..add lime slice or dash of lemon lime o rpineapple ..soda -to taste .



normally ta'ies are served at all meals ..haddock was a favorite fish ..any shape or form ..

ma made a great veggie soup ..beef bones ..turkey carcasses ..or chicken ..then 3-4 potatoes equal to 1 rutabagas (neeps) 3 celery ..1 onion ..salt pepper ..2-3 diced carrots ..lasted a few meals ..and sandwiches ..

soup followed or stovies ..all large meat n fowl ..dinners ..

tenants lager was 1 unc's favorite ..all the rest drank whatever was wet ..after ww2 ..they liked the genny brewed THEN in NY .
