Sporran talk
Back in November last year I was asked (read 'told') if I would do a talk on sporrans for the Harrow & District Caledonian Society.
After a few chats with Artificer I gave my talk earlier this year.
I took examples of the sporrans me and my boys have, did lamis of the various types of sporrans available including some historical ones and some of the modern monstrosities, took my tools and talked about the history of the sporran - some of it rather tongue in cheek, did a quick demo on sporran making and then took questions from the 20-30 people there (the biggest attendance we'd had for a craft session).
I have to admit I was a bit nervous as I hadn't done a talk like this before, but the crowd were enthusiastic and interested and my session over-ran by about half an hour due to the questions.
All-in-all, it was a great session that went down well. Just have to see how many more such talks I get 'asked' to do.
