Just a thought, but to treat Jackets as accessories to the kilt in a traditional sub forum is absurd. For many, a traditional kilt outfit, and yes let's not be semantic, but many traditionalists contend that the wearing of the kilt is an outfit consisting of Kilt, hose and upper body garments such as a jacket, jumper etc.. many times I have seen comments to the extent that a kilt and jacket is the equivalent of a Saxon suit.

If I go to purchase a Saxon suit I would expect a pair of trousers and a jacket. I would not expect to buy a pair of trousers and then be shown to accessories department to find a matching jacket!

Therefore to my mind for traditionalists the kilt and jacket are part and parcel of the whole and as such both should fit within the remit of how the traditional kilt should be worn.
