Spent Thanksgiving, as usual, with family. My dad, 92, is a highly respected authority on canaries and related cage birds. He's kept canaries since he was eight years old. Yet again touring the bird room today, his Scotch Fancy canaries caught my eye. Compared to all the other birds, each variety being in it's own way distinctive, the Scotch Fancies really stood out.

I grew up to the sound of singing canaries, and have from time-to-time kept a few singers of my own, just for the enjoyment of their music. A singing canary can sure brighten things up.
