Was it SO awful?
Friday night, 28th, spouse called out, the "dreaded" "Duck Dynasty" filmed-in-Scotland episode was on.
In this opinion: Yes, they looked and performed like "reality show" scripted millionaire-business-family Southern bumpkins giving Scots an interesting and not necessarily ideal view of wealthy Americans who have media lapping at them.
Yes, one gent wore a government tartan kilt over his cammie trousers for heavy athletics at a games, at which the Americans did not at all excel and another wore non-clan (Royal Stewart?) trews.
Yes, the cast came off as woefully under-educated about their Scots (Robertson) heritage. And yes, Uncle Si did endeavour to fish for the Loch Ness Monster in the wrong loch...
...however, the scenery was lovely, a few anecdotes amusing...
...and in this opinion NOWHERE NEAR THE DAMAGE WAS DONE by Louisiana Clan Robertson visiting the Highlands...
...as some time ago, "America at large" sending blue jeans, tee shirts and hoodies to Scotland to seemingly forever strike a crippling blow to the national dress of faire Caledonia.
At least the Ducky people's visit was a short-lived "assault" on Scottish culture.
Alas and tragic for perhaps geolocial eons yet to come..."blue jeans are forever."
