Hi! New member here from Kansas.
Hello all!
New member here from Kansas. I am just starting to get into the wearing of the kilt and highland wear through becoming a piper. I started learning about 15 months ago and have been on the pipes since January of 2014.
I served in the 1st Infantry Division as a Field Artillery Officer from 2004-2008. I left active duty and have been a fireman since September of 2008.
I currently have one kilt in the American National tartan. Most of my family heritage comes from Wales/Ireland. We have "shirt-tail" cousins still living on Raithlin Island, so there may be a tenuous connection to Western Scotland and the islands. Following that lline there may be some Clan MacDonald way back in the family somewhere.
I've had fun looking at different posts and learning! Thanks for the great information and I look forward to learning more!
Merry Christmas!
