    Mad Scots Tourist

I am fortunate to live in a scenic tourist area. As a result, Matlock Bath with motorcyles, fish and chips and ice-creams is a well known tourist haunt when the sun shines. Banned from my bike for a few weeks I go for a walk each day and I'm sure I'm just regarded as a mad Scots tourist by most folk. (I'll accept the mad and Scots.) One guy asked had I come from Scotland and I said "no, Whitewood Way" (the name of my street 5 mins walk from where we were) and the next question was "Is that the tartan from there?" He clearly was not local - nor Scottish. There are compensations, these views are less than 10 minutes walk from my house and the weather for walking the last few days has been ideal, lots of sunshine and just a light breeze to keep things cool.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
