    Kilwillie Castle has sold

    The old Mackintosh estate of Raitts has sold for GBP 5.2 million including the house known to millions around the world as Kilwillie Castle from the TV series Monarch of the Glen.

    The house was built by James 'Ossian' Macpherson in the late 18C to the design of architect Robert Adam and renamed Balavil. In recent years the 7,000 acre estate has been let for shooting and corporate events, but the new owners plan to reclaim it as a family home.
