more bogus Ebay "military officer's sporran" claims

This is so typical of Ebay, a seller purporting that an item is "military", usually "military officer's" and often moreover assigned to a specific war (these people love the Boer War for some reason).

This one has more specific claims, that it's a Black Watch sporran and was worn during WWII while stationed in India.

Of course it's nothing of the sort. It's a typical civilian pipe band sporran, and I told the guy so.

Revealing that the guy says that he has been "unable to totally verify" the sporran and makes reference to the wide variety of sporrans issued to The Black Watch. In reality they had less variety than other regiments, all Sergeants, Officers, and pipers wearing the same type:

That, and the Other Ranks pattern

complete the picture of Black Watch sporrans.

    Here's the Ebay listing
