Hi
I am new to kilt making and I have just started making a wee kilt for my four year old grandson- in the same tartan as his dad's - Ancient Hunting Stewart.
I had no idea what was involved. I bought the Barbara Tewksbury book "The Art of Kiltmaking" and then found Marion Foster who lives about 70 miles away from me. http://askivalofstrathearn.co.uk/She is an amazing teacher and is dedicated to ensuring that the highest standards of traditional tailored kilt making are passed on. Her standards are higher than the techniques described in Barbara's book.
Although the wee kilt will take me many hours to make, it has really got me hooked. It is a true labour of love.
I look forward to reading about other people's experiences and wonder if there is anyone else from Scotland on the forum!
