Why didnt i bring some home with me ?
I've had all the various varieties of Caledonian Kitchen and while it was some time after I'd had haggis in Scotland, it tastes quite similar to what I remember of that trip. The ingredients are a bit different and of course don't have the FDA-proscribed lungs but still, the taste was good. I have a can of Stahly's Scottish Haggis sold as "Hardcore Haggis" by Celtic Croft along with the assorted Caledonia Kitchen variations. Expensive, though anywhere you get it here.
One of the places I had haggis in Scotland, a pub in Glasgow don't remember the name, served deep-fried, battered haggis croquettes. They were very good, but the size and shape looked suspiciously as if someone had cut slices off some canned haggis. . . still, very good. I also had haggis, neaps, tatties and Cranachan at the Albanach restaurant off Trafalgar Square in London. That was very good as well. I understand they're closed now.
