I've read that white cockades were used as a symbol of the Jacobite cause. I'm curious if these are ever work in modern times, either as a symbol of allegiance to the modern Scottish independence movement or as a nod to hereditary association with the Jacobite cause? I'm intrigued by the idea, as it both would stand out from a stylistic consideration and also be an acknowledgment of my family history who came the the America's after the Battle of Culloden, having fought on the losing side. I'd also be lying if I said I wasn't slightly drawn to the slightly anti-establishment tone of it as well.
