Voluntary unemployment
After 28 years working for a state agency, I finally pulled the plug last Friday and am now officially on the retiree rolls. Still can't sleep past 5:30 a.m., but I'm working on it.
In celebration of my new-found freedom, I donned a kilt for my last day at the office. Got some good-natured kidding, mostly from the lass standing next to me—my manager, Linda. Almost everyone thought it was a great idea, and no one went screaming to HR.

After the office celebration, a bunch of us "retired" to a local pub to continue the festivities. Then it was back to work. The Scottish Ramble in St. Paul on Saturday, and a whisky tasting for the Scottish American Center at Merlins Rest in Minneapolis Tuesday evening got retirement started off right.
Ran into fellow XMTS member Fedgunner at Merlins.

Now it's on to the Tartan Rocks concert this Friday. RETIREMENT—don't know if I can take it.
