Long time no see ... new kilt
Hi,
I haven't had much time for neither the forum nor sewing or wearing kilts. But now the summer comes, I only have 8 shows in a few weeks time to do and then the festival time (bal folk festivals in Germany, France and maybe the Netherlands) starts.
So here is my nearly done new summer kilt. After two (orange) knife pleated kilts I did a box pleated this time. I wanted to try it and also found the orange knife pleated one to hot to dance in - even if it is not wool. I therefore followed Barbaras and Matthews additional instructions.

On the second foto you can also see my new "helper" - "Bosch Sensixx AdvancedSteam" :-) It holds on litre of water or in this case water with spearmint oil, so it still smells a bit as if someone had herb tea here in our garden.
There will come fotos of the kilt with me inside soon. I only have to make the lining and the strap and buckle for the apron. The underapron will have velcro 'caus I don't want to have the buckle in the inside but was too lazy to make a button hole.
Because the cloth is very light, the lining will be made from the tartan as well. And maybe there is even enough spare cloth for a waistcoat!
