First time wearing my new SLANJ bespoke kilt.

Hello XMTS members.

In April the wife and I took a trip to Scotland with some friends. It was my main goal to get fitted for a kilt while I was there. After a ton of research (trolled on XMTS a bit as well), I finally decided that SLANJ in Edinburgh was the place for me to open my wallet and take the plunge.

SLANJ treated me and my wife and friends like gold while we were there. Absolute attention to every detail was paid.

Three months later and it has finally arrived. I've had it for almost 2 weeks. I've put it away in a proper storage bag with cedar and proper hangers, but I've really only gawked at it, I tried the kilt on but never the full garb...

Well, tonight was the night. Home alone and a tad bored I thought i would get all gussied up!

1) Having never done this before, I welcome comments on form, adjustments, heights, etc. I want to be sure I am 100% prim and proper when I don this beauty!

2) I have Cream and Black hose. I did the cream becuase I think they look a little more formal (are Black hose more formal?).

3) Not a big fan of selfies, i set the iPhone to timer and propped it up against a book, so pardon the poor composition.

4) Is my kilt pin in a poor location? I feel it should be lower, but I thought it looked good on the red background.

5) I know i need to remove the white "X" threads that held the coat tails in place. I'll do that when I wear ti out for the first time.

6) Is the sporran too low? It kinda feels like it. I need to shorten the chain because i was on the last hole on the leather strap...
