I just received my first USA Kilt
This was sort of a test for me, to see how I liked certain differences:
- PV instead of wool
- 12 oz. weight instead of ~15 oz. weight
- Velcro instead of buckles
- A different fit in the waist and hips
I'm wearing it around the house, and I'm quite happy with it. Overall the craftsmanship is dramatically better than my first kilt (which was pretty good for being Pakistani made ... but this has convinced me that I'm never getting another Pakistani-made kilt).
I'm mostly undecided about the buckles/velcro difference. I understand the pros/cons of the two (thanks to Rocky's and Eric's videos), but I'm not sure how I'll feel about that in the long run. It's a different look.
The real test of quality will happen after I've worn the kilt several dozen times, but I strongly suspect that this kilt will last that long ... and that I'll still be happy with the purchase at that point.
I also ordered three kilt hangers (two for me, one for my father-in-law). I'm very impressed with those.
One last thing that impressed me. I ordered it with the normal delivery time (6 to 10 weeks). I received the kilt 5 weeks and 1 day after placing the order.
Rocky,
Thank Jamie for me. It's a very attractive kilt, with great attention to detail in the manufacture.
