Kilt Kamp 2020 - official registration thread plus more details

    ------
Kilt Kamp 2020 has been postponed to summer 2021

    ------

Restrictions on access to Hamilton College campus this summer due to COVID-19 mean that we will be unable to hold Kilt Kamp this summer. I will leave the details up below, though, so that you can be thinking about whether you would like to join us in 2021. It will be sometime in late June or July, and the general plan will be similar to what we would have done this summer.

    -------------

    What:
Kilt Kamp is the place for you to learn how to make a kilt for the first time, extend your kiltmaking to a new kind of kilt, or just have a great time making your umpteenth kilt in the company of kiltmaking friends. Whether you want to make a hand-sewn traditional knife-pleated kilt, or whether you want to try your hand at a box pleated, Kingussie, or reverse Kingussie kilt, Kilt Kamp is the place to do it and have fun at the same time.

When: starts 8 am sharp on Sunday, July 12, ends 5 pm Friday, July 17. The Central New York Irish Festival will take place in Deansboro, NY on Saturday the 11th, for anyone who wants to arrive early.

    Where: Hamilton College, Clinton, NY.

Who: Space is limited to 8 registrants who have never made a kilt before, with additional space for folks with experience. First dibs will go to Xmarkers.

Instructor: Barb Tewksbury (author of The Art of Kiltmaking).

Cost: US$375, plus meals and lodging. You provide tartan (or I can order tartan for you at wholesale prices) and other kilting materials. Dorm housing on campus is ~$50/night/room (2 people can share for $50 total/night). The dorm is not air conditioned. Alternatively, you can make your own housing arrangements. We’ll provide snacks and drinks.

    Registration:
Send an email to Barb Tewksbury at btewksbu@hamilton.edu, and she will email you the registration form. To secure a place, return the registration form along with a deposit of US$200. Once you are registered, you will receive additional info on logistics and supplies. The balance of the registration fee, plus lodging if you are staying in the dorm, will be due no later than June 15.
