I saw the photo and wondered if he were wearing a kilt backwards (as sometimes happens in these sorts of celebrity events) or if it was some other sort of man-skirt design.

I had thought something similar when I first saw him. Actually, I thought he was wearing it sideways. Fortunately, the show won all seven awards for comedy. That gave me a lot more time to look . My wife's comment about the longer length in the back dissuaded me from my first opinion. Right back to my first opinion, " What an odd look" . Then again, most non-kilt wearers likely think the same of us.
