    What boots are therse?

I bought these boots yesterday at a vintage sale that was held in Whitchcliff Western Australia. I paid a massive $20 for them. They look like they came straight out of the military surplus store. I beeswaxed them and melted the wax into the leather using a hairdryer. I then polished them with dark tan Kiwi polish. In retrospect, I should have taken before and after pics of them and created a 'how to thread', however, I was too excited to see the final product that it totally slipped my mind.

There is a makers mark on the inside of one boot: W (arrow pointing upwards) D, 111, T Bird & sons, 1942, size 10 fitt M

    These are my questions:
    1. What military/ regiment /purpose (if any) do they come from?
    2. Where was it made?
    3. Any other info regarding these fine 78-year-old boots.
