Wink Part Scot,, part Indian, All-American!

    Greetings from Tallahassee, Florida!

Glad and grateful to be able to joln up and get acquainted with folks of shared origins.
I am a 64-year-old newly (10 months)-married 'breed who celebrates both cultures. I have 4 adult kids and 5 grands, with two more on the way. I have spent over 38 years as a provider in the mental health field, along with the occasional continuation of my original profession, archeology.

My family (evidently, along with a large percentage of the McNutt population of Scotland,) emigrated to "the Great Ulster Plantation very early (about 1680,) and to the Virginia colony before 1735. They were frontier folk who moved West, out of English control, fought and negotiated their own leases with the Cherokee, and were living in the area of modern-day Nashville by the time of the American War for Independence.

I have found documentation that, historically, our clan was known for our prowess in archery on the battlefield... so my kids and I, all competitors in traditional archery, get our inspiration from our Scottish ancestry, as well as from our Native lineages.

I have begun wearing the kilt, at least occasionally, in the last couple of years, through the influence of the lovely lady who is now my wife... She owns property near Grandfather Mountain, and we attend the Gatherin' and Games when we can. I am pretty sure I had her heart before, but I think I sealed the deal when I proposed to her in my kilt!
