New kilt (and this one actually fits)

Well, I got out to the Glengarry Highland games yesterday. I had a great time wandering around checking out the events and venues. It was also great in the clan buildings. I actually signed up for the Ottawa Scottish Society.

I had been trying to get up too the Scottish and Irish store (in Ottawa) all week. Luckily, I couldn’t get a day away. I dropped by their tent at the Glengarry Highland Games. Spoke to the, I believe owner (wish I could remember his name), about the unfortunate quality the kilt I was wearing and about getting a new one. We figured out the best size for me (34-36) and went looking for the Scottish National that I had planned on getting. Unfortunately, there wasn’t one in my size. However, walking around the games really raised my confidence level in wearing a kilt so decided on something a little brighter. I ended up with Royal Stewart. Because I needed a place for my wallet, I picked up black sporran as well. I already mentioned that I had tried to get to there store through the week, but luckily didn’t. That’s because the kilts at the games were on for $99 (taxes in). You can’t beat that.

I immediately headed of to the nearest washroom to get changed. I was amazed at how much better the 8yd PV felt compared to my synthetic utility kilt. It actually moves with me rather than feeling like a stiff tube wrapped around me.

Over all, it was a great day at the games.
