    A inspiration to us all...

Our man here is perhaps the most quintessential Scot of the 20th Century, but, despite his larger-than-life bluff and hearty personality (which he brought to his on-screen characters) and his accent, James Robertson Justice was not a Scot at all - being southern English born and bred.

But we can forgive him for that, and let him take the name Robertson if he wants.

Many a film between the 1940s and the 1970s would be poorer without him, and he carried off the kilt as to the manner born - a trick many a true Scot fails at.

Personally, I think his portrayal of historic Highland chiefs is what they all should aspire to, or at least go some way to model themselves on. Boy, wouldn't clan gatherings then be a red letter day..!

So do you like his outfits..?
