Hey hey everyone, I'm new to the boards and I have a question
I found these boards after reading about wearing kilts in Mexico, as it turns out I'll be going there for my wedding to my common-law wife of 12 years.
I decided to go full tartan with a kilt reflecting about 1/4th of my heritage because, honestly, my family never really did anything involving our heritage outside of going to church. Joke's on them because I've been an atheist for a while and severely jealous of how rich my Mexican wife's culture is and how they've wrapped themselves in it so fiercely.
Outside of a hello to everyone here, I'm actually very curious about something. Am I overdressing for a beachside wedding in Mexico? My father says, when I showed him a picture of my finished look, I looked ready to be knighted. So-far picked up a Prince Charlie Blazer, white dress shirt, the ghillie brogues and the sporran. My tartan is Modern Oliver and it's going to be a light one because of the heat....All and all the whole look is costing more than three times what my wife's wedding dress cost, and I'm getting a little stressed about it.
I thought about going with the Jacobite light dress shirt with the kilt, but I don't feel the shirt is the right fit for the look I want.
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks, and I am pleased to meet you all.
