			The Holyrood Tartan

I nderstand that this tartan was first "presented" to the world in 1980 by Locharron, so it's not a clan tartan. Holyrood is the royal palace in Edinbugh, an it's also currently the seat of the Scottish Parliament.
OK, all that I know, but can anyone contribute anything further on this tartan and what it represents? I think it's a beauty, now that I've paid close attention to it in the samples I just maailed out AND....*insert drum roll here*

 ...it's available in poly-viscose.

It sounds like it's rather like the National Millenium tartan, and again anyone can wear it without danger of stomping on anybody's cultural heritage.
