I have in fact attended Druid rituals within the Stonehenge circle-and worn the kilt to and from the event-though donning a white robe for the actual occasion-as a courtesy to the actual Druids.
Quite funny, for I was emerging from the lavatory-a bit apart from others so dressed, and there was a coachload of American tourists--well it said aso on the coach. Anyway the look on their faces at seeing a chap in a 'white dress/robe' emerging from the lavatory was quite a sight!
Then a braver member of the group asked why I was dressed in such a way-and the relief on his face when I told him that it was in respect of a Druid ritual was a sight to see. To then I think he'd been recalling everything bad he'd ever heard about us Brits-worse than that!
I also attended one this year at Stonehenge for the summer solstice, and there was an amazing German pipe and drum band-playing the traditional doodlesac and dressed in the most exotic attire-leather skirts and the like-great fun.
The only problem with wearing the kilt to a British tourist attraction-is brushing off the crowds of camera happy Japanese tourists.
