Kilted in Seattle
I've been lurking for a few days checking things out and figured I'd go ahead and make an official appearance. It just so happens to coincide with my first day wearing a kilt to work (and only the third time wearing one at all).
I was actually married in a rented kilt, and while it didn't seem to fit quite right, I vowed that one day I would try wearing one again. At the highland games last Saturday near Seattle I decided to go for a trial run and picked up an inexpensive casual style camo kilt. Wore it the next day which was unfortunately a day spent primarily in the car and made for quite a bit of ironing later.
Sitting down is taking some getting used to, but I think I'm making a decent go of it. It is nice having that small fan under my desk on a hot day though. Managed to check out the *** end in the restroom mirror not long ago and it appears the pleats are holding out ok. From what I understand that is less of a worry with the traditional wool variety. I'm looking forward to getting one of them eventually (going to go with the same Innes tartan that my dad wears).
Before that I think I'll pick up a couple of the polyviscose types so I can have a variety to choose from. I'm not yet sure I like the Utilikilt style yet; seems more like Roman Gladiator skirt to me. Anyhow... hello everyone.
