Welcome, Scott-you've found the best source of information on wearin' the kilt on the web right here (the site, mind you-not me!). In your shoes I'd probably get the tank in your clan tartan if I could afford it: it truly is a remarkable garment, and the basis for casual and formal clan functions, evenings out, etc. I bet this would get looking at something more affordable and perhaps a bit easier to care for that you can cut the grass in, fish in, hike in...whatever you do that you do "grubby" (you oughta see my Utilikilt).
