You might have a favorite leather jacket you like to wear all the time, but you would be a fool to wear it when it's 120 degrees out, wouldn't you?
And if you must wear something under the kilt - like bicycle shorts - you're defeating the purpose anyway.
Jeans are the only way to go for riding - unless you have some fancy English boots and jodhpurs. Dashing, awld boy! Release the hounds!
