This paired with a waist measurement of anything over 50 inches will cause the wearer to flash each and every time they bend. Even slightly.
Have him stay with traditional kilts that use a traditional rise of at least 2 inches.
I completely agree with Steve on this one. www.scottishkilts has some great deals on 5 yard casuals and 8 yard machine sewn traditional kilts. For someone that size he should really be looking at a tailor made garment.
