Have read the LOTR trilogy 3 times - the Hobbit twice - could NOT get thru Simarillion (sp?) for the life of me - too many names etc. Loved the movies hope Peter Jackson takes on the Hobbit in the near future.
As for the HP books YOU GOTTA read them - the HP movies were good - the books are miles ahead !!! Yes it will take a way from your kilt wearing/shopping/making time but it would be time well spent!
