...OR just wear the black kilt with a warm colored shirt and get a brown sporan and brown belt to match the shoes... Black is a neutral. Most browns are warm. Going fancy dress, is like black tie... stick to the rules. But with casual, just match to the degree you would with casual business attire: belt (and sporran) to shoes. The general rule of thumb is that all your leather should match.
