The CADPAT fabric and digital pattern is licenced to the Govt. of Canada. No civilian use in authorized. I had 25 meters of the first version of CADPAT. Not the uniform fabric which is a very light, loose weave, that in my opinion would not do well in a kilt, but the heavy fabric that was used for kit bags. It had a teflon waterproof coating that took 5 to 10 washings to remove. The fabric was also very stiff and hard. It was a B***h to sew. I have since run out of that fabric and no more is available.
I do have a reliable source for the USMC MARPAT in woodland and desert patterns. I also have a source for the US Army ACU digital.
I saw some Canadian forces in Afganistan wearing MARPAT desert. If your piper would not mind that, I would be willing to support any troop 'in harms way' in any small way I can.
